Halifax Busker Festival: Group Outing

From fire breathing to whip juggling, this year the Halifax Busker Festival is celebrating their 40th year, so we'll go join-in on the afternoon fun!

The agenda is flexible, but here's the plan:

We'll meet near the Sackville Landing, and walk on over to see  Seb und Fritzzz's act at 2 pm.

Then we'll saunter on over to the food trucks before coming back for Marble's act at 3 pm.

After that we take a short break, find some comfy water facing seats, and then head out one more time for the Fire Ninja act at 4 pm.

We'll be sticking to the loose agenda above, but you are free to come and go as you please, or pair up with another to see specific things before coming back to the group.

And lastly, most people come to our events alone, but if you have a plus one, please add them when you RSVP.

This will be fun! See you Saturday!

Fun Home: Graphic Novel Book Club

Graphic novels and comics are not just for kids!

They are a great way to ease back into reading without a long time commitment.

We will start the night with a quick round of intros, then the moderator will present the book of the night, the classic "Fun Home" by Alison Bechdel, and ask the group probing questions, prompting you to reflect on your reading experience.

We will close off with a round of favourite art, where everyone shares which page they liked the best. Of course, you will be expected to have read the graphic novel in advance.

You can borrow physical or digital copies at the Halifax Public Libraries for free.

Casual Canoe & Kayak Outing

Casual Canoe & Kayak Outing

Let's enjoy the last half of summer by heading out onto the water.

We'll meet up, grab a couple of canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards then paddle along the Dartmouth waterfront while enjoying the calm waves.

It'll be a pretty casual outing of about 6-12 people meeting up at 1:45 pm for a quick chat before pairing up for canoes, upgrading to kayaks, and making our way into the water.

There will be beginner instructions, life jackets, and likely others who are canoeing & kayaking for the first time.

For those who prefer canoes, we'll try to have at least 1 experienced person per boat.

Once we're on the water, we'll explore for about 2 hours and possibly have side quests to complete.

Then we'll wrap up around 4 pm,  say our goodbyes, and for those feeling peckish, head over to Milestones for a quick bite.

Lastly, most people come to our events alone, but if you have a plus one, please add them when you RSVP.

Passive Puzzles & Unfinished Projects

Passive Puzzles & Unfinished Projects

It'll be a casual show-and-tell style hangout where we show where we're at with a project, chat about why we stopped or what we'll work on today, and co-craft / create together.

For those without a portable hobby craft / side project, we'll have some jigsaw puzzles, art supplies, and an open space to share ideas and test things out together.

We'll also have some card and board games around for those who'd like to play a game, or test game ideas of their own.

There will be some light conversation in the beginning, and the rest will be more open than our conversation nights.

And of course, there will be snacks 😊

Lastly, most people come to our events alone, but if you have a plus one, please add them when you RSVP.

We'll meet up, head to our picnic spot, enjoy a private live music performance by local harpist Isabelle Gagnon, and snack, chat, craft, and chill the afternoon away.
