Twinkling chandeliers, fantasy-inspired fashion, and general good will and whimsy filling the room.
Hosted by the Hal-Con Sci-Fi Association, let's enjoy a night full of enchantment and fun.
Whether you present in full fae regalia, formal attire, or brewed something magical from your closet, we will meet first and then head to the ball together.
The Fae Ball is said to have a live DJ, interactive activities, dancing, and even snacks so we'll enjoy the evening there together.
Throughout the night we'll meet back at our chosen spot to talk about what we've seen, liked, and maybe spill some tea if there's some to share.
We'll also have a photographer on hand to snap photos of what we're wearing.
Then to conclude the night we'll have a chill chat and call it a night

Art Talks: Bags Named After Women & Their Stories - Open Lounge
With just enough light to read, and chill afrobeat music played by Halifax's local DJ Ubuntu, the open lounge is where you arrive, settle in, and casually meet new people at your own pace.
On this night, at 7pm, we'll start our very first Art Talks conversation with Lola of Ova Afrique about the origins of her bags, the stories behind them, and deeper topics like overcoming the feeling of being stuck.
Co-hosted by Israel Ekanem of the BlackOut Podcast, the conversation will last about 30 - 45 minutes with opportunities for the audience to participate in the dialogue.
Afterwards, we'll take a snack break, for about 15 minutes and then return for deeper guided conversations in smaller groups, with opportunities for a more intimate Q&A with the artist on their work, philosophy, or other things your were reminded of.
Then after that we'll conclude the evening, while keeping the room open for continued conversation. snacking, and just hanging out until 9:30 pm
This experience is a mix a free-flowing structure, optional guided conversation, and space to create around other creatives.

Moss, Magic & Mingling - A DIY Mini Gnome Gardens & Fairy Forests Hangout
Mossy green, tiny stones, and a table full of others building their own magical small worlds
A conversation focused experience where creativity and design skills of all levels is welcomed.
You’ll create your own miniature fairy or gnome garden, choosing specific pieces and a design that feel right while chatting about small magical moments or memories you're comfortable sharing.
We’ll start with light conversation while selecting the materials
Then we create our little worlds before taking a short break for snacks.
Then we dive a little deeper into our chat about magic and life while adding the finishing touches to our gardens.
